For Schools, Afterschool Programs, and Nonprofits

We know student behavior is more challenging than ever. We also know how busy you are. Take two minutes and watch our video to learn how The Village Well can help teachers, schools, and youth programs!

We use an evidence-based approach that supports the kids with deep feelings and impulsive behaviors. We involve the whole school community - including parents! Our supports are cultural grounded and honor the diverse backgrounds of students and staff.

Workshops

Engaging, practical, and immediately useful.

Our workshops are designed for teachers, after school staff, program leaders, and administrators. We translate research into real-world strategies that work. Popular topics include:

Adlerian psychology focuses on a child’s search for belonging and significance as the primary drivers of behavior. We take Alfred Adler with a healthy dose of suspicion. He was one of the founders of modern psychology who studied Austrian women with neuroses and extrapolated his findings to create theories for all of humanity. Still - we find his models useful and effective in many cases.

  • Supporting kids with big feelings and big behaviors

  • Designing inclusive programs for kids with disabilities

  • Nervous system regulation for youth and staff

  • Understanding ADHD, autism, and trauma

Workshops are interactive and grounded in your context—not one-size-fits-all.

In traditional child-rearing practices around the world, we find these common values: community care (our village), communal learning and healing, family connection, core family values, a strong sense of purpose, practices around health and wellness, giving children space for independence, unstructured play, and self-expression (yes, including our kiddos with disabilities), clear rules and boundaries, processes for conflict and repair. We help families tap into their own traditions and create these structures in their homes.
